Why did you decide to become an orthodontist?
I decided to be an orthodontist after I started Dental School because I thought the specialty of orthodontics would fit my personality and my lifestyle goals. I loved seeing the changes treatment made to patients’ self-esteem, oral health, and personal satisfaction when receiving orthodontic treatment. I experienced this myself when I personally received orthodontic treatment as an adult.
I know I can say for a profession, it was the perfect fit for me!
What is your favorite thing about being an orthodontist?
The connections with patients in getting to know them during the course of their treatment and then seeing their happiness with the results of their treatment. Also being able to work as a team with my staff!
What is your favorite thing to do in Asheville?
Enjoying the lifestyle and vibe of the Southern Appalachians with my family!
What’s something about you that your patients might not know?
That I wore braces and clear aligners
That I made some “movie braces” for Owen Wilson
That I went skydiving in Hawaii
That I have lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and North Carolina
What do you like to do when you’re not in the office?
All types of activities with my children and grandchildren.
